This is a restricted area located south of the White Sands National Monument and is a very large Army base. It has been used for many kinds of tests. We were allowed to get in and see only the museum and the rocket display shown below, not any place else. We really liked the museum. It is very well arranged in such a small space and has so much to see including videos to show certain activities such as the 1982 Discovery space shuttle landing. There were also exhibits regarding the Manhattan Project with a scaled down replica of the original test bomb. This was a great place to visit. |
